Glen Danzig was born on June 23, 1955, in Lodi, New Jersey. He grew up in a working-class family and attended local schools. As a teenager, Danzig became interested in punk rock and formed several bands, including The Misfits and Samhain.
In 1986, Danzig started his own band called Danzig, which blended heavy metal with punk rock and blues influences. The band's first album, self-titled Danzig, was released in 1988 and became a commercial success.
